Across the incidents of 2024, from cloud account takeovers to identity-broker breaches, the same weaknesses recurred: missing MFA, reused passwords, and convincing phishing built on stolen data. The unglamorous fundamentals prevent or contain a large share of real attacks.
Make the month count
- Turn on MFA for the accounts that matter most first: email, banking, and admin access.
- Roll out a password manager so unique passwords become the easy default.
- Run realistic phishing practice and coach, rather than punish, those who click.
